This brings back memories, i had one just like it back in the 90´s in almost the same yellow colour. Looks though like your car is a far better preserved one . Good luck with piecing it back together and getting your drivers license :). Real good choice of first car :thumb:.

Okay, now i get it. Well, 25 years on it´s still a nice project car ;). I thought the paint was something off the Ford colour scheme or maybe a fleet colour from the RAL sheet but Ferrari, that makes it a bit more high end . When it comes to missing parts like trim pieces, emblems and such, i suggest you post shoutouts at this forums buy & sell section (i noticed you posted one about door handles - just might have a couple of leftovers from a scrapped Granada somewhere but i dare not say for sure, i might get back on that later). Fairly good chances that someone here has used parts left as the Taunus TC-series coupe sold as quite many units in its days. Good to see that the front fenders are all right as those are practically extinct as spare parts.

For the service parts such as brake pads/shoes, springs, bushings and all that, you should browse the sites of http://www.mekster.se (swedish company) and the Germany-based Autodoc and Mister-Auto which i believe both have sites in finnish, as well as the Ford-specialized http://www.motomobil.com who can provide just about anything for your Taunus if it´s available on the market but at a somewhat higher price than the supermarket kind of parts sellers.

Come to think of it, the perhaps missing front turn signal glasses are being remanufactured by some italian company (well, the name is...? :kopfkratz:), but quite costly as it´s low volume production and these are italian spec clear plastic so you might need to paint them to comply with finnish traffic regulations, over here it´s okay with retrofitting clear turn signals for cars up to 1975. I think the price is around 50 Euros a piece or so, propably available on Ebay Stores.

Yes, those days before the www. sure was troublesome on us Taunus fans. I remember how it was hard just finding new shock absorbers for the coupes i had in the 90s - luckily someone told me i could use a pair of shocks made for Volvo 245 for the rear. Springs designed for the Taunus are still readily avaible from Lesjöfors and Kilen. It also seems like rear springs for the Volvo 740 series can be used in the back, measures are the same by comparison (give or take a few centimeters of ride height when set) but i´m not totally sure about the spring rate although the thread is about the same thickness. Given the slightly higher weight of the Volvo, it should not be a real problem but giving the Taunus a slightly stiffer ride. By the way, the Taunus can also use shocks, springs, bushings, brake pads and some other chassies parts still made for the korean Hyundai Stellar/Stellar II which was technically a Ford Cortina 80 (right hand drive Taunus 80) with a Mitsubishi engine and gearbox. Some of the german and british parts vendors stock those parts as those cars were sold in Britain.

Looks like a job well done :thumb:, and a hot engine in there  - i spy an intercooler up front... :D Nice touch with the BMW twin headlights, a visual treat :). Motomobil makes a plastic (ABS) grille for double 5 3/4" (the SAE standard) setups but i suspect the BMW lights are slightly smaller in radius.

Yes its true, i have new brakes all corners, front has Green Stuff pads, Spring i remake in https://www.vallilantakomo.fi/ .
shocks is from Koni, i order them from factory 20 year ago and they are adjustable.
All place has urethane puzzle so i vish at they have long life.
Yes, i rebuild motor, it has wiseco pistons and crover connecting rod, everything are new.
Now i have 225Hp/350Nm from back wheel, possivle get later 250Hp because its cruising car not race, motor can make more power only turbo need them change bigger but transmission is from Sierra and has 5 speed, its not very strong...
Yes motobil sell and i test that grille but headlamps is old model and use old R2 bulb so i need make new myself, use bmw E30 headlamp and modifed old grille, not perfect but later make them more better after get other things ready.
Now i waiting at get inside things ready but this korona change many plans, orginal plan drive this summer but looks at summer end before car ready.

Impressive setup, and a nice list of parts used, too! :) This must surely become a really fun car to drive, yet useful and at ease in everyday traffic when you get the turbocharging right. Everything to my like and my guess is that most everybody here agrees, even though we who are deeply addicted to the Taunus-Cortina family are just a small but dedicated crowd :D.

Urethane bushings are both pro and con, so to speak. They offer better stability by far than original rubber parts, but on the downside they age poorly and will have to be replaced earlier than the rubber variety.

The architecture of the luggage compartment in a Taunus coupe like this makes for interesting acoustics - seems the angled lid makes for a good bass reflex; i remember how a meager pair of 6 x 9 inch loudspeakers (however by the quality name of Jensen and with heavy magnets) built into the shelf behind the rear seats together with a tiny 2-way Luma car stereo putting out around 10 nominal Watts at best made for enough low end bass to put the body panels in vibration :D due to how the sound waves bounced back in the rear :D. Connected to a pair of box speakers with the same specs, that little stereo couldn´t make enough noise to be clearly heard over the engine. Audio physics, i guess. A modern day sound system ought to be able to make the rear window pop out, well at least close to :dance2:.

Seems good enough for making enjoyable cruising sounds :), all heavy decibels are not what makes for good listening in my book.

Depending on where the speakers are placed, the output could be really good even with not so heavy equipment. In my first car (not a Ford but a Datsun, still miss it anyway) i put a couple of small Clarion box speakers rated at a maximum output of 30 Watts in the upper corners below the dashboard and that worked far better than having them on the back shelf. Actually better than a pair of door mount speakers at the same rate (had that in one of the Fords). Might add a pair of tweeters to your setup, hidden behind the dashboard for the high tone levels and you´re all good to go. Try finding a couple of the original speakers hidden in the upper side corners of the dashboard of a Volvo 850 if there´s still any in the junkyards - these things are dual cone and has a clear sound for their size so they are suffient by themselves for "common people" ;), about the size of two snuff boxes stacked together but with large magnets to make 40 Watts each. If you want to look them up, the brand is Clarion and the type code is SE-3251.
